What You Can Expect

Tuff Hooves believes in reaching beyond
common Farrier Services to reach the

P.E.A.K.S.

 P atience
Horses are complex creatures and require patience not only on the part of the Farrier, but also the horse owner. The communication that occurs between horse and Farrier is an immediate expectation to make the horse more comfortable and healthy at the same time. Hoof Care is more complex than putting a square peg in a square hole and requires patience on all parties to achieve soundness.

 E nthusiasm
Some call it enthusiasm...most call it passion. Horses aren't only our line of work, but as fellow horse owners they are our passion. We have a respect and a relationship with the breed that goes beyond professional, it's personal.

A
pproach
A professional attitude is a must with all Farriers associated with Tuff Hooves. Communication is the key to our approach. Emergencies, scheduling issues, and unforeseen problems will arise in any profession, but through communication and understanding with our clients, we hope to minimize the effects of the unexpected and get our customers needs met. Our clients understand they get our utmost attention at every appointment.

K nowledge
TUFF Hooves welcomes the ongoing task of continuing education and perfecting our current practices. We promise to know more today than we knew yesterday, and more tomorrow than we know today.

S
anitary Conditions
Our tools are disinfected between horses and stables to minimize the spread of contagious pathogens. You can count on TUFF Hooves to arrive with clean tools.

Jim Becka at work
Not Just Another Farrier...

Clients will tell you one thing stands out about Jim Becka...he cares.

Jim's philosophy is simple; educate the client about their horse and it's a win-win for the client and the horse. Jim takes his time to examine each horse he works on and explain fully his approach to help the client understand what is best for the horse going forward.
Jim Becka consults the ranch manager of the T-Bone Ranch in Colorado before working on over 90 horses.
